Bacha Bazi involves the forced feminization of young boys who are dressed in ornate female clothing, made to dance, and often subjected to sexual exploitation by older men. Drawing on gender performance theory, particularly the work of Judith Butler, this paper analyzes how the adoption of female attire in Bacha Bazi rituals is a calculated mechanism of gender performance, domination, and objectification. Since its formation in 1966, the state’s political landscape has been predominantly male-dominated, with women constituting only a small fraction of elected representatives. Despite constitutional provisions supporting gender inclusivity, patriarchal norms, lack of political support, and proxy representation continue to hinder women's independent political agency. Methodology: This study employs a mixed-method approach, integrating qualitative and quantitative research. Qualitative analysis includes the review of policy documents, scholarly literature, and media reports to understand socio-political barriers. Quantitative data from election results provide empirical insights into women's political representation trends, particularly in the 2024 Haryana Legislative Assembly elections. Key Findings: The 2024 Haryana elections marked a historic milestone with 13 women elected to the 90-member house—the highest number in state history. However, the overall participation of female candidates remains low, with major political parties fielding only 51 women out of 1,028 total candidates, a decline from 104 in 2019. The study identifies key obstacles, including patriarchal norms, limited party nominations, and the prevalence of proxy representation. Despite these challenges, leaders like Kumari Selja, and Vinesh Phogat signal a growing acceptance of female leadership in Haryana politics. Conclusion: Increasing political awareness, grassroots mobilization, and policy interventions such as gender quotas are crucial for enhancing women’s representation. Water samples were collected seasonally, including pre-monsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon seasons, to examine the relationship between plankton diversity and the water quality of these aquatic ecosystems. The diversity of algae was analyzed across four major groups: Chlorophyceae (green algae), Cyanophyceae (blue-green algae), Bacillariophyceae (diatoms), and Euglenophyceae (euglenoids). In parallel, the zooplankton diversity was analyzed in groups such as Rotifera, Cladocera, Protozoa, and Copepoda. The study found that Chalak Nala (Site 2) exhibited the highest diversity and abundance of both phytoplankton and zooplankton, indicating nutrient-rich and eutrophic conditions. In contrast, JLN Canal (Site 1) exhibited the lowest diversity, pointing to relatively better water quality. The seasonal variations were evident, with higher plankton populations in the pre-monsoon season, correlating with elevated temperature and nutrient availability. Water samples were collected from these sites during the premonsoon, monsoon, and post-monsoon seasons over a two-year period (April 2022 to March 2024). The study analyzes key water quality parameters, including temperature, pH, electrical conductivity, alkalinity, dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), chemical oxygen demand (COD), and other essential ionic and nutrient content. The Impact of Parenting Styles on Emotional Maturity and Psychological Well-Being in Adolescents: A Cross-Sectional Study Navneet Singh Dr. Rajesh Parenting Styles, Emotional Maturity, Psychological Well-Being, Adolescents, Cross-Sectional Study Adolescence is a critical developmental phase marked by rapid physical, psychological, and social changes, during which emotional maturity and psychological well-being are significantly influenced by parenting styles. This cross-sectional study explores how authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful parenting affect emotional regulation, empathy, selfconfidence, and mental health among 400 Indian adolescents aged 13 to 19 years. Using validated scales for parenting style, psycho-immunity, and total adjustment, results indicate that authoritative parenting correlates positively with higher emotional maturity and psychological well-being, fostering resilience, autonomy, and positive self-esteem. Conversely, authoritarian and neglectful styles are associated with emotional difficulties, poor self-regulation, and increased risk of mental health issues including suicidal ideation. Permissive parenting yielded moderate outcomes, lacking consistent discipline but providing warmth. The findings align with existing literature emphasizing the importance of warmth combined with reasonable control in supporting adolescent development. From Awareness to Enforcement: The Role of POCSO Act, 2012 in Child Abuse Prevention in India Dr. Shubham Saini POCSO Act, Child Abuse, Prevention, Awareness, Enforcement, India, Child Rights, Legal Framework The Government of India has passed the Protection of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 to ensure the safety of the children exposed to sexual offences, a child-friendly legislation on both the victims and the legal justice. Although this is due to the noble intentions of taking this road, the route between how it is known and how it is applied in preventing child abuse is a tough path to be traversed in India. The following paper will look into details of POCSO Act, its purpose and content, its process of implementation and enforcement within India. It investigates into the functions of awareness campaigns and the problems of implementation, and the pitfalls and triumphs in the implementation of the law in the rural and urban settings. Study on the Impact of Parenting Styles on Self-Confidence and Total Adjustment Among Indian Adolescents: A Cross-Sectional Study Navneet Singh Parenting Styles, Self-Confidence, Adolescent Adjustment, Psychological Resilience, Indian Adolescents This cross-sectional study explores the impact of parenting styles on self-confidence and total adjustment among Indian adolescents aged 13 to 19 years. Utilizing a sample of 400 adolescents balanced by gender, the research employed validated scales to assess perceived parenting styles (authoritative, authoritarian, permissive, neglectful), psychological resilience, and adjustment across emotional, social, and academic domains. Findings indicate that authoritative parenting is strongly associated with higher self-confidence and better overall adjustment, while authoritarian and neglectful styles correlate with poorer psychological outcomes. Permissive parenting showed moderate effects. The study further highlights the role of mental health status, family psychiatric history, and lifestyle behaviors as important moderating factors. EVALUATING THE 5E MODEL’S EFFECT ON SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE AND GEOGRAPHY PERFORMANCE Dr. Priyanka Rao Dr. Priyanka Rao 5E Instructional Model, spatial intelligence, academic achievement, geography education, inquiry-based learning, student engagement. The purpose of this research is to determine the impact of using the 5E Instructional Model in development of 9th-grade students’ spatial intelligence as well as their achievement in geography when compared to conventional approaches in Hyderabad District, Telangana. The 5E model, particularly the absorption based on inquiry learning characteristics, has been beneficial in improving the learners’ knowledge, thinking skills, and interest levels in matters within numerous fields. The research aims at determining the effectiveness of this model towards the acquisition of spatial intelligence particularly in geography and general performance in the subject. This research adopts a pre- and post-test control group quasi-experimental design where one group is taught using the 5E model while the other group is taught under normal practice. The research design implemented in the study involved the use of pretest and posttest data of academic achievement, spatial ability, and motivational instrument. The findings also revealed that there were increased changes in both groups; however the use of 5E model of teaching did not prove more beneficial than the traditional method in increasing the spatial intelligence and the academic performance of the students. This means that although 5E model, as an innovative teaching model, has virtues that enable interaction amongst the learners, its effectiveness could be determined by factors such as teacher’s professional development, time spent on the lesson and the use of technology. It adds to the knowledge about the five-e model for geography education and points out the further research possibilities touching upon the use of technology in the process and motivation of students. Citizen Awareness and Utilization of the RTI Act, 2005: A Sociological Perspective Dr. Shubham Saini Right to Information, Transparency, Accountability, Good Governance, Citizen Empowerment, Bureaucratic Hurdles, Social Activism, Right to Information (RTI) Act, 2005 offers an extremely important service by opening the democratic governance system of India and ensuring transparency and accountability in it. With this access of information held by the government granted to citizens, the RTI Act is supposed to empower the people, bring transparency and fight against corruption. This paper discusses the implications on RTI Act and looks at how the citizens have used the act especially in their awareness, accessibility, and difficulty. The paper uses an extensive analytical approach of addressing the role of RTI Act on promoting citizen participation in governance, and strengthening democratic empowerment and good governance. The research paper has also pointed out the obstacles to efficient use such as bureaucracy, legal inconveniences and persecution of RTI activists. Today's digital world and artificial intelligence offer countless opportunities for communication and business, but they also pose significant challenges to individual rights. आँगनवाड़ी केन्द्र में आने वाले बच्चों को शाला पूर्व शिक्षा तथा अनुरूप शैक्षिक क्रियाएँ कमल कृष्णानी संस्कारित विस्तारित आँगनवाड़ी शिक्षा प्रशिक्षित व्यवस्था आँगनवाड़ी केन्द्र में आने वाले बच्चों को शाला पूर्व शिक्षा दी जायेगी। इसके लिये विशेष पाठ्यक्रम तैयार किया गया है, इससे बच्चों में पढ़ने के प्रति रुचि जागृत होगी। इसके बेहतर परिणाम मिलने पर इसे प्रदेश के 92 हजार आँगनवाड़ी केन्द्र में विस्तारित किया जायेगा। राज्य सरकार आँगनवाड़ी केन्द्रों में बच्चों को शिक्षित और संस्कारित बनाने के लिये व्यवस्था कर रही है। इसी कड़ी में बच्चों को शाला जाने के पहले शिक्षा देने का निर्णय लिया है। इनके अधीन आने वाले आँगनवाड़ी केन्द्र में प्रतिदिन 3 से 4 घंटे तक शाला पूर्व शिक्षा दी जायेगी। इसके लिये स्टॉफ को प्रशिक्षित किया गया है। राष्ट्रीय ई.सी.सी.ई. EMPOWERING WOMEN IN GREEN ENTERPRISES: THE IMPACT OF MSP ON SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES AND SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHALLENGES Dr. Mahipal Singh Dr. Monika Dahiya Green Enterprises, Sustainable Agriculture, Women Empowerment, Minimum Support Price, Socio-Economic Challenges, Policy Solutions Purpose: Green enterprises in agriculture are key catalysts of sustainable development by diminishing environmental challenges, conserving biodiversity and securing the food supply. Research Problem: The potential of MSP to encourage women entrepreneurs in green farming is underexplored while it is designed to reduce financial uncertainties of agriculture. Additionally, socio-economic barriers at the systemic level are hindering the active involvement of women in green enterprises. The purpose of this study is to fill these gaps through its investigation into the link between MSP awareness, socio-economic difficulties, and women’s promotion of sustainable agriculture on the entrepreneurial level. Methodology: A quantitative cross sectional design is adopted, where 150 women engaged in agriculture are surveyed across a range of socio economic regions. Demographic diversity variables of age, education, and income were ensured by use of stratified random sampling. Data on demographic profiles, MSP awareness, socio economic barriers and perceptions regarding MSProle in fostering entrepreneurship was obtained through a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing were used using SPSS and R in order to extract the significant insights from them. Key Findings: It furthermore show that MSP awareness significantly increases women participation in green farming enterprise (β = 0.52, p<0.001). Implicit in the benefits of MSP were reduced financial uncertainties and women understood these benefits more and were thus more willing to adopt sustainable practices. Financial constraints (-0.38, p = 0.002), lower education (- 0.25, p = 0.010) were the main barriers to entrepreneurial engagement. Socio-cultural norms and restricted land ownership further exacerbated this challenge. A mean Likert score of 4.0 indicated that socio-cultural barriers were a pervasive challenge that needed to have institutional and community based support systems. Microfinance, technical training and a collective platform for women to share problems were offered through self help groups (SHGs) which have been a great success in addressing these barriers. Green enterprises had greater participation, especially among women aged 26–40 and higher education levels. They are important targets of policy intervention and capacity building programs. Conclusion: The findings in this research reveal the potential for women to be drivers of sustainable agricultural practice with green enterprises. Addressing socio economic barriers and enhancing MSP use, governments and stakeholders can promote and enable women to drive their transition to environmentally sustainable and economically resilient agricultural systems. The impact of MSP and region specific dynamics should be evaluated in longitudinal studies in order to design more effective policy interventions for the future.
